The Property

Cliff Rock Villa has been re-imagined as a luxury villa, with abundant space for 20 guests in 10 large suites. This makes this home a perfect solution for families and groups traveling together to enjoy ample interior and exterior areas for entertainment, whilst also providing individual suites to enjoy rest and recharge. The soft, minimalistic interiors allow the vast and dramatic natural surroundings to shroud the villa without distraction. 

Cliff Rock Villa has a well-equipped, modern kitchen, a walk-in fridge and separate scullery area. Both the dining area, which accommodates up to 20 guests, and the lounge area, equipped with a Sonus Sound System, provide gathering spaces for conversation and relaxation. The entertainment hub of the home, the media room, features a large screen TV and a pool bar which extends out to the outdoor pool area, creating a vibrant space for all to enjoy. Indulge in the villa’s spa facilities, including a sauna, studio, treatment/massage room, and cardio & weights area.

There are a number of outdoor activities to enjoy including fynbos trails, fishing/kayaking on the lake, coastal paths, and of course the rock pool. Rock Pool Villa also boasts spa facilities with a sauna, studio, treatment room, and gym.

The modern conveniences and many amenities of nearby Plettenberg Bay are only minutes away from the tranquillity and seclusion that you will experience at Rock Pool Villa. Named for its unique (residents only) tidal rock pool, one of the largest in the area, guests are invited to swim, explore, and recharge whilst fully immersed in the unprecedented natural landscape. Previously a boutique hotel, the property played host to many distinguished guests including Nelson Mandela and Richard Branson. 

Avid golfers can take advantage of two nearby local courses and numerous additional ones along the coast while food and wine lovers can delight in an array of eateries and nearby wine farms. Private airlines and Cemair provide regular flights directly from most of South Africa’s major cities to the small airport minutes away from the property.

The Robberg Nature Reserve – a national monument steeped in history with prehistoric rocks and Stone Age artifacts – is a mere 5km away. Rock Pool Villa sits within 40ha of protected nature reserve that forms part of the Robberg Coastal Corridor. Private guiding available on request to the entire 18km coastal hike.
