OUR BEST BEACHES IN CAPE TOWN Best beaches in Cape Town

With no 1, but 2 glorious oceans to choose from, Cape Town’s coastline offers a beach for every occasion and activity! Whether you are a surfer, sunbather, swimmer or enjoy your evening sunset strolls, we really do believe we have it all!

Here are our top beaches for your holiday in Cape Town;

  • CLIFTON

Clifton is a feast for your eyes! Split into 4 smaller beaches by beautiful granite boulders, with a stunning mountain backdrop, it brings the young, the bold and the beautiful from both locals and internationals. Each beach has its own personality, from the quieter 1st beach (where you will frequently find a disproportionate number of cape Towns models) to Clifton 4th beach humming with a rather more densely populated beach energy…There is no shop at Clifton and plenty of stairs down to the beach so be sure to bring what you need for the day. Clifton is wonderfully sheltered if the South Easter is blowing.

  • CAMPS BAY

A palm fringed white sand beach at the foot of the 12 apostles, makes this large beach one of the most picturesque and popular in Cape Town. Camps Bay is quite simply a show ground. Its glitzy reputation makes it very popular with the jet set and whilst sipping your cocktails at one of the vibey sunset bars you can people watch to your hearts content – and most likely check out a variety of the latest sports cars doing a tour of ‘the strip’. Despite its busy energy the beach is also great for families with convenient parking, plenty of space and a variety of cafes, ice cream shops and so on.

  • LLUNDUDNO

Cape Towns best kept secret. A gorgeous beach tucked away from the crowds of the main Atlantic seaboard area, 10 minutes drive from Camps Bay. With a car park for only 35 cars, the beach is never over crowded, however it means you might struggle for parking in high season. Beautiful houses line the hill directly behind the beach with Judas Peak and Klein Leeukoppie (‘little lion’s head’) rearing up on either side to form a dramatic mountain backdrop. The sea is always a lovely turquoise colour but with this comes a particularly fresh (chillsome) temperature!

  • MUIZENBERG

A more traditional seaside town beach, flanked by colourful Victorian houses and numerous cafes and general local buzz of suffers coming and going. Muizenberg beach is vast in size (200m) and is the start of a 40 km expanse of sand that continues all the way past False Bay to Gordons Bay. Muizenberg does not have the same crystal clear blue waters of the Atlantic side but it does benefit from warmer water! Muizenberg is the most popular place to try your hand at surfing – check out Gary’s Surf School.

  • BLOUBERG

Blouberg (‘Blue Mountain’) is a 20 minute drive from Cape Town, on the West Coast, and offers spectacular views of Table Mountain. More often windy then not, Blouberg is packed with kite surfers and surfers but when it is calm the beach is a delight for some sunbathing with a view.

  • NOORDHOEK

Rural, rustic and magnificently beautiful! 8km of unspoiled pristine white beach, backed by a well protected national park, makes Noordhoek beach one of the most natural beach havens in Cape Town. Noordhoek is particularly well known for riding (numerous riding schools close by offer guided beach rides).
